verbatim's are historically fairly expensive, usually far more so than other brands for the dual layer DVDs. I was able to find them here for far cheaper than anywhere else (except some weird place that only ships to like 3 european countries, and they were only about 10 cents per dvd cheaper). Was very happy to be able to get 40 dvds for a mere 56 bucks!

[...] I bought THESE particular (2x up to 6x) discs after having had pleasurable experiences with Verbatim 8x discs in the past. I thought I'd save a few coins with these since I NEVER burn above 4x.It wasn't a good sign when I got these discs and had to use a magnifying glass to see the 6x on the shrinkwrap. They claim these burn up to 6x "with COMPATIBLE writers", and that they're compatible with Sony, Lite-On, etc. I have a Lite-On iHAS220-06 in my gaming machine, and a Sony DRU-842A in my workhorse machine. These disc won't burn above 2.4x on my Lite-On (46 mins to burn/verify 5.6GB of data) But will burn up to 4x on my Sony (30 mins to burn/verify 6GB)Thanks, but I think I'll just spend a little more to get the 8x which appear to be a bit more "compatible" with BOTH my burners, offering a full range of speeds.

These burn great! As others have stated, I've had a few errors with the India disks (but still good) and the Singapore made disks are near perfect. I have burned about 600 of these and have noticed that after about 1 year of storage I seem to get a lot of read errors even though they are stored properly in sleeves. May just be me, but don't be surprised if you have to burn a new copy after a year or so. Still the best on the market
