TDK Branded 16X DVD-R Media 100 Pack in Cake Box
Protect Important Data
TDK 4.7GB DVD-R media offers the widest compatibility with computer drives and home DVD players. Ideal for general purpose recording, a single TDK DVD-R has ample capacity for thousands of digital photos, up to six hours of video and behemoth mission-critical data files. Each DVD-R disc can be fully recorded once. TDK AVIST metallic alloys change between crystalline and amorphous states in response to the heat generated by a laser for phase-change recording. The differences in reflectivity exhibited by the alloy in its crystalline and amorphous states are read as data. TDK AVIST alloys are designed for the most precise laser response, resulting in perfect data marks and superior recording and playback performance.

Explanation of PI Errors/PI Failures:
* PI(Parity Inner) Error: No larger areas on the disc should exceed
280 PI Errors, do not worry too much about high single spikes that
exceed 280.
* PIF(Parity Inner Failures): No large areas on the disc should
exceed 32 PI Failures, do not worry too much about high single
spikes that exceed 32.
* And as always; lower is better

I have burned over 300 disc and the only problems I have had is when the data being recored is bad. I have always used Sony burners and have had great results even at 16x. I would recommed TDK to anyone with a Sony burner.

Used to have their data cds and they were great so since they were on sale I figured i'd give'em a try. Not only did I have a hard time with them at 4x but I got many bad disks out of them. I have a very capable burner sony dru-830a and i've never had any real problems with disks until these. After going through 20 or so bad experiences with them I just gave'em away. Don't put yourself through the same misery I went through!

I purchased 100 pack June 2008, but with my LG-4163 it will only burn at 4x. Very unhappy. TDK used to be good.

Together with Taiyo-Yuden discs, I use TDK discs in my LaCie external FireWire DVD burner (model 300785), connected to a PowerMac G4 mirrored doors computer. Both brands are compatible and work well for me on all kinds of discs, from data, to music, to DVD movies. I also like the TDK DVD-RW discs: they, too, are compatible with such a configuration.
