The 'Value Line' is not the 'best' as someone said. It is TY's 2nd tier product. Although most discs burn well, using them entails checking every burn. A time consuming pain.

Taiyo Yuden DVD-R(8X Value Line) So far, So good. This is my first experience with the Taiyo Yuden line but after reading so many good reviews, comments and recommendations I wanted to see what all the hype was about. This is great quality media. In the past, I have had very little success burning DVD-R discs on both my laptop (Sony DVD+-RW) drive and my desktop (Lite-On DVD+-RW / HP Lightscribe DVD+-RW) drives. I have used about 3 different variations of the Memorex brand DVD-R (manufactured by Ritek) on all 3 drives but they always contained errors and stuttered or froze when played on my stand-alone players no matter what burning speed I used. This caused me to initally switch from DVD-R to DVD+R where I had much better results. The majority of DVD+R's I have used have been the Nexxtech brand - Circuit City's house line and the Staples house brand. I never had a problem with either of them even when burned at top speed. After reading about the importance of good quality media in reference to compatibility and archival storage, I opted for Taiyo Yudens and made my first order here at supermediastore.com. I can say I will purchase the Taiyo Yuden line DVD-+R's again. Very good quality discs.

I use these disk for everything, movie backups, slideshows, if i need it on a disk i use these. I have tried many other disk and some are good but wont play in certian models or some computer drives dont like them, the taiyo's play every time, havent had a device not like them yet. over 3 years now and i havent found anything better
