I had used the camera to view tape which seemed to have some sand from the beach accident. The heads got dirty and recording/reading became blurry. The tape cleaned up the heads in first try.

My Sony camcorder, about a year old, was useless because my tapes would play back with those horizontal stripes across the picture. I put this head-cleaning cartridge in for a couple of seconds, and the problem is totally gone.
