I bought this drive mainly for the added size (my last was 2 gb). I did have high hopes for the U3 software, but, I must say, I was disappointed. I was also surprised to find out that there is a free application (called "portable apps") that can do everything that U3 can without so many compatibility issues. Portable apps can also be put on any drive, not just a flash drive. BOTTOM LINE: OK drive, but you could buy a cheaper 4 gb drive and put portable apps on it if you want that functionality.

I own 2 of these, I bought one for me and one for my husband, we transfer a lot of data between our 6 computers. We do a lot of digital editing. Somehow my husband seems to hide his in his pockets a lot! :o) I never find it when I do laundy ... let's just say that his got washed and dried a little more than a few times and it is still working perfectly. That to me is worth every penny.

I've been using SanDisk Cruzer Micros now for several years (of various sizes and SKUs). This one has the best price/GB so far. Upon receiving the unit I immediately uninstalled the U3 software since I use the unit on both PC & Mac, and I really just want to move files between computers. My disappointment with this unit is it's rather "cheap" look & feel. I prefer my previous 2GB unit which felt very solid (and was smaller). I also prefer a removable end cap rather than the new retractable mechanism which does not protect the USB connector from dust or humidity like the end cap does.
