The dual-layer disc has enough storage space for up to four hours of DVD-quality video, 16 hours of VHS-quality video, or over 120 hours of MP3 audio.

New technology breakthroughs allow material to be either read or recorded on one layer without affecting the other layer. When data is being recorded or read, it does so continuously from the first layer to the second without interruption. It records at speeds of 1 ~ 4X and uses a high quality, dependable organic-dye recording material.

The new RIDATA dual-layer discs feature good compatibility with popular DVD based video players, game consoles and DVD-ROM drives as well as DVD-R DL drives.

This is the first time to use Ritek. So far so good. they work great and havent had a single problem yet. I have about 3 left here and plan on buying more when the go on sale again ;)
I use them for Copying the kids movies so they dont scratch or harm the originals. and for backing up our computers files and data

The worst discs I have ever used. I though Sony were bad but these are the pits. I tried to use them in my 3 DVD burner. Only took one and when I checked that it was full of skips & freeze ups. So I tried it on both my internal burners which are less the 6 months old. One did not find the Disc the other tried to burn but shut down due to too many errors. I just burned over 200 Verbatim DVDs with only one costar. For my standard DVD's I always use Taiyo Yuden which are outstanding all purchased from Super Media Store. So I would strongly recommend you not buy these RIDATA 8.5 GB DVD.s
