I use the Rimage 2000i once about every two weeks to print 100 CD Catalogs. I have had 100% on the disks, 1200 Disks and 1200 Burned & Printed, the only mistakes were user error... The Print quality in my opinion is great, I use the Taiyo Yuden CDR80WPP600SK Disks and they look great, I can get slightly better if I used the Glossy versions but I do not want the extra expense as they look really good as is. I have no quams about this unit except you have to turn it on BEFORE you turn on your computer before it will intialize & sometimes I have to do it twice before it initalizes. Another thing that happens to me is the disks sometimes do not perfectly alingn and you have to nudge them so the loader picks them up... Simply nudge then click retry on the computer...

Contrary to what other reviewers have noted, I find the print quality on the Rimage 2000i (HP-based) to be fantastic. I have an Epson R300, but the Rimage blows it away in terms of print quality and rich colors. The Epson disc prints are washed out by comparison. DVD duplication is excellent and reliable, with the one exception that the print tray door doesn't always close when first starting a job...so if you don't pay attention to the first couple loads...it can jam against the robotic disc-placement arm. Beyond that, I've been extremely pleased with the unit.

Machine finishes a full 100 disks about 50% of the time, the other 50% you have to help it along. Print quality is horrible compared to Epson R200 and Rimage Tech Support requires that you secure a "ticket" for them to call you back. Unfortunately I have a day job so I am never near the machine when they call. Only advice they have had so far is "increase saturation" which I have done. Increasing saturation leads to the disk not printing at all and the FAQ reads "reset to default settings" which again allows banded printing (little lines). This is a common problem as it is the only printing answer in their FAQ. Overall not bad for an office probably, but for professional looking disks I may have to go back to manually printing 100's of disks on my Epson R200 which is very, very disappointing[...]. Good luck.

1. I thought I would be able to go to sleep and wake up in the morning with a bin of 100 CD/DVDs but that is just not the case with this unit. About 50% of the time the unit will drop a disk and it will wait for you to return to check to see if the disk is upside down in the tray. I read this in a review on line. ****EPSON R200 PRINTING IS FAR FAR BETTER AND 500% MORE ECONOMICAL THAN THIS HP $[...]PRINTER!!! EPSON CD DESIGN SOFTWARE FAR SUPERIOR!! HP REALLY HURT THIS MACHINE. That said, it's still handy. It's like a cheap employee that you have to keep an eye on.

We employ 2 of these units to handle automated archiving of digital photographic images. Once they are setup, they perform flawlessly and the speed is amazing. We are using them as servers and the jobs are fed to them via third party interfaces. That was quite a bit of work to set up, but Rimage customer support is top notch and they are always willing to help. If you need a high volume replication soultion, I woulf highly reccommend these units. Just be sure you have someone is pretty good ad coding if you want to set these up to run outside of their standard software.
