I've found the Memorex DVD+R DL 8.5GB media to be very unreliable. After experiencing strange results with my internal burner (images would disappear after the disc cooled from burning) I purchased an external LG Super-Multi drive. With the new drive I'm able to burn about 25% of the time without experiencing a media error.
