I think the product Idea is great I just couldn't get it to work.

It might have been my Phillips TV set or my Yamaha Receiver, but I could not get a consistant signal using this adapter with my MacMini. I think the product Idea is great I just couldn't get it to work.

This adapter does what is is supposed to do. I have connected my iMac to an AV receiver via an HDMI connection. The device came without instructions. It took me awhile to realize that I needed to connect the USB connection in order to power the device. This was in addition to the TOSLINK audio cable and the Mini DisplayPort connector. Once I got everything hooked up, the Mac recognized my LCD TV and instantly set the proper resolution setting. This is a nice solution.

I wanted to connect my macbook pro via an hdmi cable to my hdtv as a second monitor and to watch video content. Most everywhere explained that I would need three cables: a minidisplay to dvi cable; a dvi to hdmi cable; and an audio cable. The main problems with this are having that many cables and not being able to run the audio through the hdmi into the tv. I did some research and discovered this product. I have used it several times and it is great. It is a tad expensive but not much more than the three cables I was looking at before. And, it will run the video and audio through the hdmi cable into the hdtv. Highly recommended.

I am using this with my iBook and it works great. When it first hooks up there are some funky colors on my tv but I think it is my tv. 60 secs or so and the colors are working great. Why does Apple not offer hdmi. Hulu now has a whole new live.
