GWC Vista ReadyBoost Compatible Card Reader

This USB 2.0 Single Slot Card Reader is a portable device that supports reading and writing Secure Digital™ Card (SD) and MultiMedia™ Card (MMC) series memory cards. It's Plug-and-Play; just plug it into a free USB port on your computer and it's ready to use. Another benefit is that it supports the new generation high-speed and high-capacity memory cards, e.g, SD version 2.0 and MMC version 4.2, ensuring you get the high performance brought by these memory cards. What's best, the card reader supports Windows® ReadyBoost™, a feature allowing you to use a memory card to increase the available memory for Windows Vista™. You can use part of a card to enhance system performance and at the same time use the remaining part as a storage media, letting you get the most out of one memory card.

**Note

The ReadyBoost function can be used as long as the non-volatile memory (memory card) being used meets the following requirements,

The capacity of the removable media must be at least 256 MB
The device should have an access time of 1 ms or less
The device must be capable of 2.5 MB/s read speeds for 4 KB random reads spread uniformly across the entire device and 1.75 MB/s write speeds for 512 KB random writes spread uniformly across the device
The device must have at least 235 MB of free space
The recommended amount of flash memory to use for Windows ReadyBoost acceleration is one to three times the amount of random access memory (RAM) installed in your computer

The GWC Vista ReadyBoost Compatible Card Reader supports SD and MMC series memory cards.
SD specification v1.0/1.1/2.0: SD, mini SD, Micro SD, T-Flash
MMC specification v 3.x/ v 4.0/ v.4.2: MMC, HS-MMC, MMC Plus, RS MMC, MMC Micro, MMC Mobile

The ReadyBoost function works with 512 MB or 1GB cards as long as the read/ write speed meets the requirement, although a SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) Memory Card is suggested.
