Most people do not know that you should shake the ink cartridge for 15 or more seconds before installing it. We repair and install computers, so we deal with a lot of printers. Ink cartridges that set in a drawer or shelf can have sediment separation. I hold the cartridge upside down and shake it for 15 seconds and then turn it upright and shake for 15 more. DO NOT BANG OR TAP THE CARTRIDGE to mix the ink. After I shake it, I let it set for a minute or so before installing.
