Thought this was a great idea till I tried it twice with 2 chips from actual Canon cartridges. thought I touched the electronic, thought I had it in upside down, nope. If you don't mind the constant "out of Ink" message. it still works. Haven't tried it with the photos yet

I recently bought 5 refill kits thinking I would save big bucks and be set for a loooong time. NOT! Replaced the chips, followed directions to a tee, printer will not recognize. Tried reset/hold, tried OK/hold, tried both simultaneously/hold, tried off then on, nothing, well nothing other than out [$] with ink all over my desk, hands and clothing from the "pressurized" tanks, with no fore-warning. And yet another bad experience due to my frugality!
