There are four main features to Version 1.3:

Increase in MHz: HDMI 1.3 increases its bandwidth from 165MHz (4.95 Gpbs) to 340 MHz (10.2 Gbps) to support future Hi-Def display devices up to 1440p in resolution. More MHz equals a higher speed.
Deep Color and Broader Color Space: HDMI 1.3 supports 10-bit, 12-bit and 16-bit (RGB or YCbCr) color depths. What does this mean? Well instead of millions of colors displayed on your HD TV, you?`u?l be viewing billions of detailed colors. It allows your set to display any and every color perceptible to the human eye.
Lip Sync: This newer version not only enhances visual quality, but the precision of visual and audio quality together. HDMI 3.1 offers synchronization of the two flawlessly.
