We found that you don't HAVE to use the Teac P-11 ribbons, that there are wonderful substitutes out there; this is a great one. There is sometimes a bit of skipping, but compared to the price of the original - I'll manage the occasional skip.

Excellent replacement for my Primera Signature Z1 disc printer!

I was about to give up using my Perimera Signature Z1 printer for labeling my CDs and DVDs when I found this replacement ribbon for less than half of what I had been paying. These ribbons work great and are every bit as good as the name brand ribbons.

These ink ribbons are pretty difficult to find, even in NYC. On top of that, if you do manage to find a store that carries them, they're quite expensive. A quick Google turned these up at Supermediastore.com at a fantastic price - the best I've ever seen. I immediately placed an order and had them a few days later. I've been using these cartridges along with the

Good for small jobs, not very fast

This works well on silver or white CD/DVD surfaces and produces sharp print most of the time. Sometimes the print doesn't work perfectly, probably a result of using a ribbon cartridge. It's not too noisy, but does take a couple of minutes for each disc if you print in all four sections. The ribbon life states 200, but that means 200 print areas, so if you print all four sections of the disc, you will get about 50 disc per ribbon cartridge (about .20 each).
