Product does not work well on standard DVD player

To sum things up, I used this DVD and a Maxell Logo on Top 16X DVD-R Media to burn the same movie. Using the exact same methods and hardware. The JVC would freeze, skip periods of time and drop sound(can regain sound by pausing then back to play). The Maxwell played virtually flawless. In short,it worked fine with computer hardware(IE. DVD/ROM)but not on a regular DVD player.

About 20 of the disc were damaged when the shipment arrived - due to poor loose packaging. Also this disc were very poorly manufactured - no consistency between 2 disc. Very poor customer service - Rep wants me to return item before they will send me another set of this disc - and on top i have to ship it to nearest Fedex store - what a disaster.

Taiyo Yuden is the only DVD-Rs I will use. I have tried many different name brands it the past and have found that Taiyo Yuden are the best in Quality. I normally buy the value line to save a little money. I have only ever had two bad disks out of nine hundred.

Been using these "Value Live TY DVD-R's" for years and have never had a problem. I burn several hundred a month and cannot remember the last write failure. I burn at x8 and x12. My burners allow up to x24.

I purchased this item in July, largely because the reviews were so positive that my fears that the price was too good to be true were quelled. How wrong I was!
Out of 100 DVD-Rs in the pack, 40 won't record, or play, or both, and I'm not quite to the end of the pack yet.
When I ordered these along with some other items,I didn't start using them right away, and when I realized how bad they were and called Linkyo,I was told that I'd waited too long, and couldn't return these wretched defective DVDs.
There's nothing worse than a company that won't stand behind the products they sell. For heavens sake, DON'T buy these terrible DVD-Rs, and if my experience is anything to go by, don't trust Linkyo. There are plenty of other places to buy from on-line.

I've used TY Value DVDs for a couple of years now, both as masters and copies of various events at a large church. I rarely come across a bad disc in a spindle of 100. DVDs were wrapped in bubble wrap and then placed in a box with packaging peanuts. However, the peanuts were on only 3 sides. The side of the DVDs without the peanuts had flattened bubble wrap...there was no cushion for the DVDs other than the flaps of the cardboard box.

While these discs are supposed to write at up to 16X, I have never gotten more than 12 - 13X in either my 16X capable NEC or Plextor writers. Their primary virtue is that they usually produce only 1 or 2 coasters per thousand, but the discs from my last order failed at double that rate, which is still good but not perfect. Lastly, the printing surface is good but not as bright as some Ritek or Philips discs. All in all, I much prefer to buy these discs than the slightly cheaper ones that produce far more coasters.

The only reason I bought these was because Sams was out of Verbatim. I did considerable research before deciding on these and it turns out I should have been using these all along. Better than Verbatims.
I do believe this is one of the few quality discs available. I've only ever used +R until and I plan to stay with Taiyo Yuden -R.

Overall excellent quality, especially for the price. Of the several hundred of these I have used, frisbees can be counted on the fingers of one hand. I use these for making masters and for making high-speed copies as well; the video quality is reliable and the print surfaces are very ink-jet friendly. I have used approximately 250 disc of this product for a long time and have never experienced any disc to fail. Other products have from 1 to 5 disc that fail to record. Since the cost matches other products, its easy to use the best. I wholey recommend JVC Taiyo Yuden DVD disc as the best available and the only ones I will use.

After trying every conceivable brand of DVD-R, I've found these to be the best. They rarely have any failures - maybe one or two out of every 600 that I run on average. And, they print in the auto printer reliably better than any other make. I don't even think about any other kind of DVD-R anymore.

A solid performer. I have come across a few coasters over the years, but may I stress that there were only a few. If I had to guess, probably less than 1 in 600 became a Frisbee. The media is still a great performer, works with many types of burners and DVD players. Recommended for the hobbyist who wants to save money and still get a solid medium.

The only issue I have is with the shipping. Item was placed in the bottom of box with one piece of bubble wrap under the 100 disc item and all the rest of the bubble wrap on top. I was surprised there was no damage except to the top plastic end cap and the first disc. This is the first time I have had any issue with their packaging.

I've found the JVC Taiyo Yuden discs as good as the original Taiyos. Very reliable and very compatible with a wide range of burners and players. The value line is even better with it's lower price. It may have a bad disc here and there (very few, I'd say 1 in a few hundred), but what the heck it is the "value line". I've had off the shelf name brands that don't do as good as these. Bottom line they as a solid deal.

DVDs are always shipped promptly. One problem I've had with other brands in the past such as Sony and Memorex is that almost 10% of the pack will be defective. With JVC Taiyo Yuden the defective rate is maybe 1-2%. These DVDs have absolutely no markings on them and are printable to the hub. I am very pleased with this product.

While these are not the highest quality DVD-R media available they are as good as most any other on the market. You can spend a lot more and get a Top quality DVD but I am 63 years old so why do I need something that can be read 50 years from now? These suit my needs just fine.

I spent a lot of years going from brand to brand trying to find a disc that had fewer write errors and was the most compatible with DVD players and this is the brand that I fell in love with.
I rarely have any problems with these discs.
I will never buy another brand.

Although the order was for Taiyo-Yuden, the discs were labeled Verbatim.
Delivery could have been quicker. I ordered boxes from another supplier at the same time, and they arrived several days before the discs.
Still, it's nice to have a supplier who can deliever good quality white discs at a reasonable price.

Taiyo Yuden Value DVD are not reliable!

I have purchased these Taiyo Value DVDs by the 100's for years and have only had a few problems in the past. The Premium DVDs are great, but these value packs I just received were horrible. I purchased 2 packs of 100 and the first 10 off the top were all defective. I decided to open the other 100 pack and try them. About every other DVD would not burn.
I will be staying with premium Taiyo Yuden in the future. Supermedia is a good company. They did give me a refund for the 100 I sent back.

I have only burned about 3 of these so far, with no problems, and did a whole DVD in 4 minutes. Yes, my burner recognized these as 24x speed, and burned them as such.
