This was my 2nd order for 100 discs. Had no coasters on 1st 100. Catching them on sale with free shipping is the only way to go. I would probably be fine with the "value line" as well, but why take the chance when the price is the same? My burner is capable of running at 16x but being old school, I prefer to burn at 8x-just more comfortable to me. So what if it takes a couple of minutes longer? The speedometer in my car goes up to 160 too!!!

Bad computer drive burns are a thing of the past with Taiyo Yuden blank DVDs and even the 16x discs are backwards compatible with my stand alone 1x Sony DVD recorders.

Overall, the purchase order was a smooth transaction. Overall rating should of been a 5 all across the board.
Just surprised that the shipment coming from Calif to Georgia wasn't packaged better. Very few loose peanuts in box and one of the plasic DVD containers was busted. Dvd's
looked to be ok but I hate having to send to our customer like that. Use bubble.

I have been using Taiyo Yuden for last 3 years (dance shows) and never have a single problem. My last order was for Value Line and all 3 packs went wrong. Excellent Customer Service at SuperMediaStore follow with me (well, they call me and send me a return mail sticker)and allow to return bad product and replace with Premium Line DVDs. What a great service.

I am not a huge fan of the silver thermal. It is hard to tell what side of the CD is supposed to be used. In hindsight, I should have went with the white label. The cake box is cheaply made. You have to turn the cover between two tabs and if you go to far then it is open so one could have an issue where it turns as you are picking it up. I needed 8x for a particular device so I did not have a lot of choices.

I've always used the TY DVD+R 8X in the past, as that is what I started out with several years ago, but have now found a good substitute TY DVD-R 8X that is darn close in quality, is more abundant and you don't have to worry about the "bit" settings. Some burners just like the +'s better.

I normally use Premium line. My last order of 100 discs I tried out the Value line. Although it's about $5 cheaper per 100, I experienced far more coasters and errors. I rarely got a coaster with the premium line with over 500 burns. If you need a good burn the first time, go Premium. If you can stand the occasional coaster, go Value Line....chances are you will not get enough coasters to make it the same price as Premium.

Taiyo Yuden dvd-r are the best I have used so far. I was in the duplication industry for several years and I know my blank media and this to me is the best. I also have my own personal movie library (about 1500 dvd's) and all of them were duplicated on Tayio Yuden blank media. Never had any problems. I do recommend the premium line over the value dvd's.

I have tried several brands of DVD-R blanks and have had problems with all brands except Taiyo Yuden Silver Thermal Premium Line disks. I don't remember ever having a bad disk and I burn at least 2,000 disks each year. When Supermedia.com has them on sale, the combination of quality and price can't be beat.

I have an older stand alone EMERSON DVD recorder that was originally designed for 1X-4X DVD-R discs. FUNAI released a BIOS upgrade that took it up to 8X discs, and that was it. It has become almost impossible to find genuine 8X DVD-R discs that are really 8X, these JVC/Taiyo-Yuden discs work perfectlty in this machine 100% of the time.

I own a video production company in Texas, I have four cameramen and five XL2s, three editors and four editing bays. These are the best DVD-Rs to burn on. I've tried many other manufacturers and I've found the Taiyo Yuden DVD-Rs to be the best. I've burned thousands without much grief. The 8x burn more consistent than the 16x in my Mac. I get twice as many coasters on the 16x.

Purchased DVDs and cases from this company in the past and the packaging started to coming poorly packaged. When it arrived on the East Coast where I live the contents would be damaged. Super Media would always make it right but it was just a hassle to expect damage each time. Started buying elsewhere but the price from Super Media was always better. Decided to give the company one more try and the package I ordered came well packaged and in good shape. I will keep ordering if they keep this up.

I purchased several 100 packs of the Taiyo Yuden - premium line in the past and had no problems playing the burned copies in my dvd player. I've noticed after my last purchase and after the merger of JVC with Taiyo Yuden that i'm not having the same luck with the burned dvd's playing. I've sent the 100 pack back for a return to see if it was just the set i received or some other issue.

I used to exclusively buy Taiyo Yuden disks. Then I got lazy and started buying blanks from the big box store's shelf. Big mistake, never again!
These are the best blanks you can buy, and trust me, I've tried them all. The finish is high quality and will NOT scratch. If you scratch these, it's because you TRIED to. They almost never fail. I've had maybe 2 coasters out of a 100 box, if that. These will burn and verify at far over their rated speed, which is a direct result of how high quality they are.

Taiyo Yuden is the best. Accept no others.

I have been using these disc's for over two years now, and use about 400 to 600 a month, very few coasters, maybe one or two out of every 1000 disc's on the average. Great play back quality. Very happy with these disc's. As with most things the price could be better, but as compared to other brands and the low coaster rate.. well worth the money. Allow a week or so for delivery time.

I had never bought TYs before. I was surprised that the label side is totally blank, with no lines for writing titles. I had heard that their cake boxes were flimsy, but I found them to be quite good. I've only burned about 10 discs so far, and they were all fine. I was surprised to find that these 8x discs burnt in exactly the same amount of time as 16x Verbatims did, on my Pio 640 DVDR!

These disks rarely fail to produce good results. Only once did I see a cracked disk and I don't believe I have created any coasters that were the fault of the disks. Delivery was quick and flawless. You pay a bit more to be assured of "Premium" quality but I believe it's worth it.
