Not Taiyo Yuden ???

I gave the Quality and Overall ratings a "3" not because there was anything wrong with the discs themselves, but I couldn't tell whether I received what I ordered, which was Taiyo Yuden discs, not JVC. The wrapper said "JVC" in big letters. Nothing was mentioned of JVC in the catalog. If Taiyo Yuden is now part of JVC, they should still carry the Taiyo Yuden name on them if that's what they are called in the catalog.

Poor packing caused shipping damage -- again!

Never got a chance to try these discs. There was NO packing material in the box except for 1 cardboard divider. In the shipment, there were 3 cake packs of discs (1-100 and 2-50) rattling around in the box. By the time I recieved them, one package had broken open and the other 2 were marred and therefore suspect. The CR rep tried to talk me out of rejecting the shipment! I reordered anyway and asked them to thoroughly pack next time. The next shipment arrived today and was packed the SAME with the exception of one sheet of bubble wrap laid over the discs which were still rattling loose in the box, unpadded. UNBELIEVEABLE!!

I like the bulk packs IF you save an old container. I also like using a Sharpie to write on the white discs; easier to see than the shiny lacquer discs. Unless a box store has a practically giveaway sale, like free, I usualy buy from SuperMedia

Preparing slideshow videos for weddings and reunions, we wanted something that would last, and where we could print directly to the disk. Stick-on labels and LiteScribe were OK, but wanted something a little nicer. We researched quite a bit looking for the best available within our price range. Taiyo Yuden made disks were rated very high. Our son, a computer consultant in Calif. recommended SuperMediaStore as a possible place to buy. We checked it out and they were VERY competitively priced, so we ordered (along with printer ink, also a great value). Quick delivery, and great print quality. As for longevity, we will have to wait on that. Highly recommend SuperMediaStore!!!

I purchase thousands of these DVDs every year. They are very reliable with a very low fail rate. The value line has a much higher fail rate, and in my industry, I cannot afford to have DVDs failing while duplicating. I've been using these Taiyo Yuden manufactured DVD-R discs for my DVD burning purposes for years now. They are definitely the best you can buy. The other cheaply manufactured discs you can get at your local retail store don't even compare. If you want error-free burning and playback this is your best option.

Burn failures have become a rarity since I switched to these disks (from Sony DVD-Rs).
The change from Taiyo Yuden branding to JVC Taiyo Yuden does not seem to have affected the quality.

I use a number of different DVD brands in my video business, however; when it comes to archiving video for the long haul, I use Taiyo Yuden DVDs. In all my years in the business, I have never had a TY disc fail to burn. My only regret is that these discs do not laminate well due to a ripply surface texture.

I picked up a pack of these after I recently purchased a 16x DVD burner. I had been using the similar Taiyo Yuden 8X speed DVD-Rs before. Besides the faster burning speed, these DVDs have a higher quality surface near the center hole, in that the surface of the disc is one consistent white color. There is no "transparent" area that is sometimes visible on other white inkjet DVDs. Overall worth the extra dollar or two for this great feature.

I rarely have a bad disc with Taiyo Yuden and they look very nice after printing with my inkjet. I haven't had a bad disc in at least the last 500 disc. Taiyo Yuden is the only way to go. I wish they had BluRay.

I have created hundreds of discs in my photography business for back ups and for clients using Taiyo Yudens. I can't think of a time when any burns have failed with these discs. These discs print great on an inkjet printer and are hub printable which once you set this up with your printer you can print almost to the spindle hole which looks more pro than leaving a big white circle around the spindle hole. Quick shipping and packaged well.

Very reliable burning results. I burn at 1/2 top speed, which is 8X for this product. The DVD blanks are rated at 16X. Printing is very good, but I wish the blanks were whiter. The so-called white color is actually a pale buff, which distorts the printing colors.
