Too many cracked and broken cases (the shipping container was not damaged), and many of them are not easy to open (for which I have no explanation). I have ordered these before with a similar experience, and was hesitant to order them again, but reluctantly did so because of the price. I will search elsewhere next time for something of higher quality.

These cases are very economical. The work well for continual use, with one caveat. You just need to be careful with them. Being thin, the ears that make the hinge are small. The work very well but of course you just have to be careful with them because they are not indestructible. For my money I wouldn’t buy any other case for continual use, as long as I didn’t have to worry about young children trying to open them or handle them, unless they understood that they needed to be careful with them. It really is pretty good case.

I ask for better packaging each time and both products came with broken materials. You can't expect UPS or Fedex to be nice to a thin cardboard box. Everytime we have several cds broken and this time the dvdr tube came with the lid broken off. I want to keep using your service but it drives me nuts to throw away broken cd cases everytime.

Received order within 3 or 4 days by Fedex. These cases are shipped in an inner box and then an outer box for transit. Either at the whse or during shipping heavy boxes were stacked on top and every one of the jewell inserts is cracked and unusable at the hinge.
Needs to be better protection done at the factory b/4 shipment.

The only problem with these Linkyo 5.2mm Slim Single Boack is I normally get about a dozen per 100 that the little black hinges are broken in pack. \But overall for the price I find it workable.

I recently purchased this item believing it was a standard cd case instead of slim. Yes, it was my mistake.
but to have to pay shipping to return it plus a re-stocking fee? A better solution would be to drop the re-stocking fee and credit the return shipping cost towards a future order. Mistakes do happen and there are alot of other place to purchase these items.

I am not sure there is a lot to say about these slim CD Jewel cases. They are more or less a commodity product. However, I can say that I have been pleased with these cases from SuperMediaStore. Delivery is quick and the price is good. More important, I rarely get broken ones. They seem to hold up reasonably well to regular use as long as one takes normal care of them. I prefer them over the stiff plastic cases because they are easy to open, but they still stay closed when you are done. The CD is held well by the clip device at the hub, and there are even tabs inside the cover to hold a thin booklet or cover that describes the CD and tracks. Bottom line: these seem to give better than normal quality at a normal price. I will use them again.

I bought two cases of 5.2mm Slim Single Black CD Jewel Cases (200 pack) that are defective. The lids do not “snap” shut and remain closed. The CD or DVD easily falls out of the cases because of improper closure.

I have previously bought several of these 'units' and have had a number from each 'unit' broken. This was because the 'single layer' & 'devoid of any packing material' box that they were shipped in was employed...so all SuperMediaStore.com folks seemed to do was just add a shipping label and then shipped it out. The last several orders had a 'shipping instructions' box where, when I requested that the box of 200 slim cases be put in a bigger box with sufficient packing material, the breakage has been reduced. I hope SuperMediaStore.com will act upon it's own to properly pack all customer's orders without the customer having to request it. Other than that, the 'slim cases' are OK if you understand that they are fragile, and the hinges holding the clear plastic front piece are the most vulnerable part of the case that are easily broken IF not properly shipped or handled. My last shipment only had about 5 out of 200 broken instead of the previous 25 to 35 out of 200 damaged. As long as the price is kept below $28, I'll be a repeat customer.

As others have mentioned, these are budget cases and they are not packaged well. I have purchased 2 batches and in both cases approximately 10% of the cases were cracked or broken upon receipt. They are packaged in nothing but a single layer cellophane wrap. It is likely that the parts are damaged before they are shipped - thus the low price. Even throwing away 10% of them, the net cost is lower than any other option I've found.

Our previous supplier continually sent us this same type of disk - but couldn't deliver without damaging about 3% of the cases. We've never gotten a cracked or damaged cas, and we've ordered 100's. I've ordered these same items for the last 5 years from Supermedia Store and have always received them on time as expected. The product works great as expected. The only problem I have had with these orders is the packaging when received. The plastic cases are placed in a box and then placed into another box without any packing peanuts in between the two boxes. So, of course there are going to be broken cases because of the "no cushion" zone between the boxes. I have consistently lost about 5% of the cases due to broken tabs or broken corners. Since I order these in bulk it doesn't hurt me all that much but I would like to see improvement on how they pack there items.

The only reason for the 4 on quality is that I'm dissatisfied with every company's jewel cases. The little hinge tabs break off too easy and getting lables or tape to stick to the edges is really difficult.

Ordered the 200 pack of the Slim Jewel cases and ended up with 7 that were broken when they arrived. I had noticed that other raters complained about the same problem, butI thought I would try it anyway. If this is an ongoing problem, why doesn't Supermediastore fix it??? It was easy to order and it arrived in only 3 days, which worked out well for me because I needed some of these jewel cases quickly. The only cons were that (a) some of the covers were lightly scratched from rubbing against one another and (b) the spot from the plastic mold is farther from the edge than it should be, thus it shows more than jewel cases that come with a new CD.

Would I buy them again?... Yes, and I am going to!

Aside from the poor packaging (the box was minimally taped and had come apart by the time it arrived) and perhaps rough treatment by UPS (for which I rated the delivery with 2 stars & 3 stars + for the speed of processing my order), the slim cases appear to be a good value. This is my first purchase by mail, so I was surprised by the quality of the product which was comparable to products costing up to twice that amount in stores. 10x Better Than Memorex

I was so completely feed up with buying Memorex cases and getting lower and lower quality cases with every purchase that I decided to give these a try.

These cases are made like Memorex used to make cases 3 or 4 years ago. The front and back covers are made of decently thick and sturdy plastic. The front cover does not flip around backward if you do not hold it while you have it open. The tabs on the back cover that hold the clear front cover are also much studier than the modern Memorex cases. Unlike Memorex if you happen to drop these on the floor, they do not break.

Very glad I took the chance on these.

Also a big thumbs up for the way these are packaged for shipping with the box inside a well padded outside box so no broken cases.

Ten out of 400 were broken in shipment. We were able to cannibalize two of them for one good jewel case. Ten broken is not enough to bother to call in and ask for replacements, but end users don't "understand" or tolerate breakage very well. I worked as a shipping clerk, so I understand, but most of the staff here have not, so they were dismayed. If it were up to them, you wouldn't get another order from us.

No qualms about ordering from SMS; have been for years and they're reliable and shipment is quick.

This order set precedent. It was the first time I received an immediate email stating the items were on backorder and they'd be in stock in 1-2 days. I've heard '1-2 days' before and considered canceling, but the next day I received shipment confirmation.

As for the cases, what do you expect? They're $.13 each, cheap, flimsy but they do the job. . . hold a DVD.

Only one complaint, the handling of the boxes is very rough so several in each box off 100 is damaged. This shipment was much better packaged than the last ones, so the damaged had to have happened during packaging. Cheapest jewel cases

If you're not picky about color then these are the cheapest to be had. Unfortunately like all colors these are fragile. Out of a case of 200 Probably 6-8 were damaged, tho it was probably the shipper's fault (tracking was down so couldn't tell who it was, probably UPS). The larger box the case was packed in looked like a sumo wrestler sat on it. Like to see what bread would look like if it was shipped a few hundred miles. Maybe they should put "do not put other heavy objects on top of this" on it?

The cases are a little better than what I'd expected. For the excellent price (with free shipping) I wasn't expecting much--just mediocre cases to hold my burned CDs and DVDs, but they turned out to be pretty good. They could hold the CD/DVD in place a bit better, but since I'm easy on things, they're more than fine.

My only concern was the way they were packed for shipment. They were in their own box within another box and packing material was lacking on a couple of the sides. However, there was no damage, but I can see where damage could have easily occurred.

Overall, a terrific purchase and I will definitely be doing business with Super Media Store again in the future.

Great price. Excellent customer service. Shipping is still hit and miss. Only 8 broken out of 400. The plastic used for the batch is different than others. It is more flexible, which might save some from breaking.

the hinges on this version seem floppier than the last time I bought this same item, the slim case. not quite as robust or stable. it would be better if it opened like a book and the cover stayed in the position you opened it to. I thought that was how it was the last time I purchased this, even the slim case.

They simply aren't packed well enough

Your company is perhaps the fastest shippers in the USA, and we customers really appreciate that.

Sadly, as for the cases ordered, they are a good product, but the packing allows for many of them to get broken during shipping. The little tabs/hinges that connects the cover to the case get broken and makes the cases useless to the buyer. I have ordered another brand of cases before and they were packed in tight plastic, stacks of 25, and not a single case was broken. These were the colored cases and that's why I didn't order them again, because I prefer the black cases. If only the black ones were packed like the colored ones, many customers would be happy campers.

These cases are to fragile for the loose shipment of single 100 count boxes. They should always be packed into additional boxes with plenty of peanuts. Damage to loose 100-count boxes seems to be about 20% - way to high!

The DVD jewel cases I bought arrived in a cardboard box that had been roughly handled. Although it was battered and bent, the cardboard boxes housing the jewel cases inside the shipping box were unscathed. Very very few of the jewel cases had sustained any damage whatsoever.

I understand and accept the few broken jewel cases. All in all, I am satisfied with SuperMediaStore's performance in filling my order, and I highly recommend SuperMediaStore to other shoppers who want great products, great prices, and great service.

When opening my first two cases, the clear plastic half was damaged at the point where the black plastic half snaps into it. The third case I used opened fine, but closed with difficultly. The tab tends not slide in and out of its slot very well because its edges are too sharp; and the ~0.5mm inner wall of the slot is extremely vulnerable to excess force.

That is 25% of the shipment. Unacceptable.

This was the second time I have ordered this product. The first time everything was fine , but this time about ten percent of the cases were broken at the hinges. The box they came in was fine so I suspect that the damage was done at the manufacturing site. I have read some of the reviews by other people and I don't seem to the only one who has experienced this problem. The delivery was great, the price was good,but some one has a heavy hand somewhere along the way.
