I haven't yet gotten over my ingeniously puny, steel superTalent flash drive which I lost (its manufacture quality seems to have dropped badly recently, so don't want to risk buying it at the moment). So, appearance-wise this drive feels bulky and plastic-ky. Although I haven't used it that often to say for sure, the transfer rate seems pretty fast (it did for the superTalent as well, then began to get slower over time). I do wish the slit for the cord was easier to get at. I wanted to put my key ring through it (which is what I did for the other one). So right now, I have to fish for it in my bag... I'm concerned about losing it/or forgetting take to work with me.
That said, product-wise it seems very good so far. Don't judge the book by the cover. These days it's hard to not care about the cover though.

I have no complaints on the product or the company at all. In fact, this is about the 4th or 5th time I've ordered from supermediastore.com because I know the products are good and the company will stand behind them. Delivery is always right on time and the items are packaged well.
What I wasn't that thrilled about this time (and it's my own fault) is that while the email blast made it seem like these were an incredible deal, the local Sunday paper had other brand name flash drives with the same number of gigabytes at the same or lower prices. The only advantage I had was not paying tax.

Slower Write Performance

This disk is much slower than the Sandisk Cruzer 4GB. With the 4GB disk I was able to write at around 8MB/s. The write speed on the 8GB version is around 4MB/s. Also, I only copy large video files (1.2GB ea.) which is the best case in terms of write speed. It takes about 4 minutes to copy one file (two minutes on the 4GB drive).
I don't know about read speed because, for reading, I plug this drive into a USB port on a portable dvd player. No apparent speed problems playing the videos.
I tried removing the U3 software and reformatting the drive but no difference in speed.
My OS is Windows Vista Ultimate.

I thought the only difference amongst various flash drives is the size, so I did not read the fine print! This drive only works on a PC if you have Intel! Fortunately, I just purchased new computers that all have Intel...only my older computer does not. Flash drive is otherwise pretty awesome for a great price.
