The Ritek-Ridata disk were only plastic wrap, the packages came busted and disks were every where, But so far they are not damaged. I will only order case or spindle packages from now on. Its long way fron West to East Coast.

Poor packing caused shipping damage

Never got a chance to try these discs. There was NO packing material in the box except for 1 cardboard divider. In the shipment, there were 3 cake packs of discs (1-100 and 2-50) rattling around in the box. By the time I recieved them one package had broken open, and the other 2 were marred and therefore suspect. The CR rep tried to talk me out of rejecting the shipment! I reordered and asked them to thoroughly pack next time. The next shipment arrived today and was packed the same with the exception of one sheet of bubble wrap laid over the discs which were still rattling in the box, unpadded. UNBELIEVEABLE!!

I have tried many different brands of media. In the past it was common to expect at least 10-15% of the discs get rejected in my disc publisher (an old Bravo II from Primera). I have been using Ritek Ridata White Inkjet DVD-R for the past year (about 2000 discs) and have not had one rejected disc - UNBELIEVABLE!

I have had no trouble with these discs at all - great quality for my movies, and they look fantastic after printing. Service from SuperMediaStore was fast and secure - no damage at all from transporting - solid packing, excellent price.

I would also like to know if you have shiny surfaced printable discs - these are matte white, and I may try some shiny ones in the near future.

They perform well but keep them out of the sun. An afternoon of solar exposure can cause the white side of the disc to flake and peel the white coating.

Unlike some RiData -R 8X bargain discs I bought, I've been having much better luck with these Ridata 16X discs though I have been burning at 8X speed, just to try to up the odds. About one out of ten will still have a singular momentary "skip" or jiggle, usually near the end of a full disc recording, but these 16X discs are not too bad overall, considering the bargain price.

Got this free with the purchase of another one. Have never had ANY issues with these discs and the print quality is SUPERB. The printing surface is as smooth as glass, and is far better than the much more expensive Verbatim Hub Printables.

I usually by Taiyo Yuden blank DVD's but the price on the Ritek DVD's was too good to pass up. I have had very good success with the Ritek with only an occasional coaster. The printable surface works well with my Epson R320 printer. Overall I am very happy with these Ritek DVD's.

I tried these Riteks because occasionally you need inexpensive discs which can be almost given away and not break the project budget. Sometimes, pennies DO matter. Tried 'em and I like 'em! Probably won't replace my using T-Y for mastering and archiving, but seem great for turning out lots of duplicates at a hard-to-beat unit price!

well to tell the true this product really suck..i'd used alot of blank dvd but this one give me alot of truble..it fail alot during the burning process pluse after it pass it give alot of truble of playing back also.

I have ordered 5 bundles from supermediasore, the had problem burning the disc on the first bundle, after I closely inspect the DVDS, I found out the whole bundle has a little dent on the side of the disc which cause the burner fail to write the lead in sector (only 60% success rate). I don't have any problem at all on the second bundle(100% success rate).

great product as always from supermedia store. my only wish is that they shipped from somewhere closer to my location (I am in NYC) and it takes 5 days or so receive with normal ground shipping. also i was kind of upset that literally the day after i bough these items, a "72 hour sale" took place and i could have saved at least another $15 but oh well! I have been purchasing these RiData 16X DVD-Rs for many months. At least 1,000 of them. In all that number I have had only two discs fail during the write process on my computer (using Toast Titanium) and as archive discs for TV programs I want to keep from my DVR. That is an amazing number and so close to zero to not mean anything. I've had other manufacturer's discs fail at rates as high as 5 out of 50.

These discs are more than satisfactory for backing up files and for TV shows and movies.

I went back and pulled out some of the discs I recorded several years ago on the 8X version of these DVDs and found that they all read/play just fine.

I will be buying more of these as I need them.

Best value out there for single layer disks. These write quite well, are very portable (havnt had any issues with any players not liking them like a few brands) and have a pleasant matte finish print surface. I dig 'em - can't really go wrong here if youre dealing in bulk disks.

These are the best DVDs to hand you r customers with grapahics and photos on them. I use an Epson 1400 printer to do mine on and they come out gorgeous. They print great with no smearing and they dry instantly. I just bought another 200 count of these DVDs and i love them. The top of the disc is really smooth and prints wonderfully and looks top rate if you want to impress your customers.

Packaging leaves a lot to be desired

I haven't tried the disc's yet. The reason for the review is concerning the packaging, The product is advertized as a package of 200 disc's. True, however they are broken up into 4 packs of 50 disc's. This would be fine if they were held together somehow after opening. Once you cut the plastic wrap, your on your own to contain them, they are not in a holder of any type. I've made other purchases here, I was happy with them, not this one however. Again, I'm not complaining about the product, it's the packaging.

Except for the fact that the covering was ripped open on one of the 50 bundles and not in tact, I think more attention should be addressed to the packaging. I have used about 12 DVD's to date and so far, no problem.

I have been using RiDATA DVD's for a short while because of the low cost. Most of the time they burn without error, but one out of about 25 fail. I can live with that compared to the more expensive DVD's.

Using a dual layer recorder, out of the first ten, three had some minor problems when played back on a set top player. I had two frame drop-outs, that is, the picture froze for a split second. The third was a littler weirder in that the sound went out of synch but went back in after using the forward / reverse buttons on the player.

I did a binary file compare on the computer and it reported no differences. This may be like the old 360k vs. 1.2meg floppy disks. The tracks were too skinny on the newer drives and there were problems when trying to read off a 360k drive when written to on a 1.2 meg drive. Here it may be a focusing issue if the player has a lot of hours on it, it doesn't quite read the same all the time from a DVD mase on the dual layer based recorder burn cycle.

I have since made a few with an older single layer recorder at lower burning speed and seem to be getting better results.

They're still a pretty decent deal, usable if you have time to review each recording, or if your requirements aren't too fussy.

I tried these because they were on sale and found them to perform well. I have used about 10 of them so far and haven't had any "coasters". I have a ink jet printer that prints cd's (epson r300) and the printable surface seems to be a good surface for photo and design printing. They are rated at 16X but I burn them at 10X or less just to be safe. Overall, I would say it is a good product.

The only problem was in ordering on-line. You delayed my order for several days because the shipping address (Florida where I spend two months in the winter) was different from the billing address (Upstate NY). Your message said to call or email. I tried both but never got a response, even after phone calls were placed on hold and I waited for long times. Poor customer service.
