Cake box broken in shipment

The cake box housing the DVD's was broken in shipment. The bottom was not protected from damage due to the shipping box being to small to add protective material.
I'm not sure if I care to order this product again since I saw many other customer complaints of damage in the shipment of the DVD's. The DVD's themself seem to be working good.

I do alot of duplication and master burning to DVDs and have found Philips DVD's as good as the higher priced DVDs that I have used in the past such as Tayo Yuden and verbatium only with a substantial savings in price. I highly recommend this product.

I like the spindle, which you don't get with the cake-packs. I bought 2 packs. One of the spindles had a piece about 1"x1/2" broken off from the plastic round base - damaged in transit. The piece was in the box.

I have used these for about 3 years (used 400-500), never have any problems. I usually wait for a sale.. but at about $.25 per disc, how could you go wrong?
I tried another disc that was on sale... burner would not recognize. I'm sticking with Phillips from now on.

I had been using locally purchased disks but was becoming unhappy with the "chalky" print quality -- especially on areas of dense, dark colors (particularly noticeable on black areas). I had not seen this item before when browsing the site, so I decided to give them a try. The print quality is excellent. Even totally black fields are dense and uniform.

The 100-pack only costs $2 more than those I was using and I am much happier with the print quality. As for data reading and video playback, I have used about 50 disks so far and have not had any failures.

I had also used similar Verbatim disks (purchased here), and although they perform well the price difference has made these Philips DVDs my media of choice for as long as they are available.

I keep buying these and have no complaints whatsoever. I use a Primera Bravo SE and nove no problems with them. They burn well at all speeds, print beautifully and don't stick together on the spindle. The plastic spindle cases are perfect (some bulk discs come shrunk-wrapped with no spindle). Buy them...you'll love them.

i needed three things and i got three things: a cake box i could use to hold future blanks, a white, printable disk- right down to the hub, and a quality blank that doesn't fail when i attempt to burn a project. quality is rarely an issue for me, but usually i don't find many people who will sell a 100 count unit in a cake box, especially printable down to the hub (i like to be able to print on the entire disc surface). for me, it was worth a couple extra dollars to get this than the usual plastic wrapped group of 50 or 100. the cake box acts as a good storage cell for blanks and future blanks, while the burned discs get placed in proper storage after being burned. overall, i am very happy with this purchase and made a second purchase so i could have another cake box to segregate other blanks that were unavailable in a cake box.

I usually use Verbatim and I bought these because the reviews were good and they were on sale at a great price. I started having trouble with playability on some of my projects and it is the due to these dvd's. If I burn the same project on my old reliable Verbatim's the project plays perfectly. If I use these they stutter, skip, and drop frames.

I go through about 300 to 600 DVD's a month and I've found Philips to have a great record in burn quality and burn success. I may get one or two coasters out of a case of 600, and you can't beat the price on them for the quality that they are,

Phillips has come a long way in making blank media. Years ago when I used it I would get many failures time and again. Now, I have not had that problem in the last 300+ burns I have done with the Phillips product. So overall I must give it five stars all the way. It's a great product and was sold by SuperMediaStore at a knock-down price. Delivery was very prompt and I'm a happy customer. Kudos to Phillips and SuperMediaStore.

I burned over 5000 of these in Pioneer drives. No coasters due to defective discs. They print well in
my Epson printer. Until something changes I'll stick
with these. Did I say great price??? On the downside
UPS will probably break a tab or 2 on 25% of the cakeboxes but that doesn't hurt the discs. Better packaging would probably increase the price so I'm
ok with that.

Great price on good quality blank dvds

I got the 200 pack of theses Philips (duplication grade) dvds.I have already used 80 of them and no problems burning.
I noticed that a couple of the labels came out blurry or (Unnatural) but it was only a few and I am sure it was just a fluke the rest have given great print quality.

But what exactly does "duplication grade" mean?
All I know is that they burn perfect:)

I have not opened the disc packs yet since I still have a few Verbatim's to use. But, Philips is a co-inventor of Disc technology and I have great faith in their products, the price is great, other Philips products I own are exceptional, delivery was fast, and the product is what I wanted--hub printable, and lots of them (200)for under $40.

The price is cheap but also the product. Evening using a burn speed of 8X I had to many defective blanks. I will go back to ordering the Verbatim disc which at 16X gives me no defectives.

These Phillips 16 X DVD -R White were a sweet deal. I haven't used more than 10-15 of 200, but they have all been great. I purchased them for $.20 each, shipped, a price better than the TY 8X Silver Thermal Value Line I usually buy. For the price I had to buy them even though I didn't have a pressing need for them.

I have not ever used any duplication devices but I've purchased about 1000 blank DVD discs from SMS. Almost all of them are used for making backups of movies purchased by me or my family. I've only returned one purchase, only to discover that BOTH of the DVD burners on my PC had died at about the same time. SMS let me return them and sent replacements without a hassle.

If I had to guess I'd say under 1% of the discs I've purchased were bad. And I returned some that were good with no questions asked by SMS. I'm confident what ever I buy here will be good. If I'm not happy the staff will do what it takes to make things right for me. I give SMS and their products 5 stars all the way.

I've used Verbatim, FalconMedia, Sony, Ritek, HP, Maxell, Memorex and Taiyo Yuden blank DVD-Rs and Falcon DVD+R DL discs. I must say that these Philips discs have performed flawlessly so far (I've used 50 out of 200). They arrived quickly, intact, no damge and in nice cake boxes. I think it was a batch of Ritek's that actually stuck together due to the shrink wrapping (I bought the cheapies once). These Philips discs look good, burn well and print fine. I only burn at 4x and almost never have coasters (despite claims of 16x, why push it?) My Primera Autoprinter handles these discs with ease. I'm just mad I didn't buy more while they were on sale for $39.99 for 200 discs!
