So long, extra money spent on Verbatim

I've been a loyal Verbatim buyer for years now. I had a mass production to do, but it was a volunteer project so I decided to try these out to save some money.
Two spindles through, and only one dud, and that was a hardware failure, not disc related.
Lightscribe isn't -quite- as dark as the Verbatim discs, but is still good. Lots cheaper than other labeling types, certainly.
I'll be buying these from now on, especially after Verbatim recently made me eat the cost of an entire spindle being coasters.

Decent Discs

These are a decent Lightscribe disc that I would put in between the HP and the Verbatim ... Better than the HP but not better than the best in class Verbatim. Tho I have Tried some Memorex brand lightscribe DVDs I got on a killer sale locally and would maybe put those over these Microboards. If not getting Verbatim I would choose these or Memorex based on what has the better price, then lastly HP and Phillips.
But then as far as I know they could all be the same exact discs just rebranded :-P

This is a great price for a quality product. I will definitely order from them again! The lightscribe disks worked as well as any other brand I have used before at a good discount price. Next time I think I will order more to get them even cheaper.

All in all, not bad. Do you get what you pay for? Upon initial inspections, the disks seemed thinner than other brands I have used. They arrived and I began burning immediately. I had 200 copies of the same photo slideshow. I also had 200 of the same label on the Lightscribe side to burn. No issues burning the data, but halfway through the labels, I found two disks that refused to burn. Cleaned, rebooted, tried it all. Hopefully, that is all. Would I buy these again? Sure. For the price, two coasters isn't a show stopper.

I've been using the Microboards LightScribe disks for a couple of years now & have never had a problem. With other disk brands I have had data loss after a short period of time, but not with the Microboards disks. The price is reasonable. I only wish they made a double layer lightscribe disk.

won't use Microboards discs again

I've burned THOUSANDS of Taiyo-Yuden DVD-R discs, and never a coaster, not one ... wanting to utilize my Lightscribe options, I read lots of positive reviews for the Microboards discs, and bought them ... yes, they Lightscribe, just fine, BUT, if recording a full disc, it pixelates, and freezes, just minutes before the end of the film, etc ... very thin discs, also ... most players hesitate a bit, before 'finding' the disc, but all eventually played ... I sure wish Taiyo-Yuden (the BEST discs!)would manufacture Lightscribe discs ... guess I'll buy an Epson disc printer, and go with TY printables, from now on ... but, I will NOT be buying any more of these Microboards discs ...

an occasional bad light-scribe burn is blank upon completion

However the price is good, in a group of 50 disks I usually end up with 3 or 4 bad light-scribe burns. Occasionally if I try to re-burn it works. Have no idea why it happens. but price is good even if I would have to toss them compared to others
