Change in cartridge supplier trashed the quality of Linkyo product
By Roy on 01/04/2016
The last set of Linkyo cartridges (Both color and black) were refurbished from non-Canon cores. The most recent purchase was unsatisfactory for the following reasons: 1. They leak toner around the shaft "seals" 2. They are leaking toner onto the imaging drums 3. They streak colors on black and white only copies and black streaks on the color copies. 4. The Canon MFP reports (from the time of installation) the cartridges are at the "end of mechanical life" and must be replaced. Supermediastore.com assured me this was not a problem. 5. Supermediastore.com indicated they would replace them and then never followed up with the RMA. Please note that All the cartridges were in Linkyo boxes and the previous ones I got worked perfectly. Based on core part numbers, the previous cartridges were remanufactured from Canon cores. These are from a secondary source whose imaging roller is a different color, thinner and has sections around the edges where the coating has been scraped off, the shape is a bit different and overall construction is thinner and weaker with parts fit being sloppy.
I will be trying once more to get Linkyo to exchange them before I move on.
Great price, free shipping, and they worked fine in the printer

My one comment is that the cartridges are designed to be multi-brand, multi-printer. So the ones that came in were marked for an HP printer not my Canon. Yet, the packing slip and order entry was correct for my printer. It required a call to customer service to understand the confusion. Some type of explanation would probably eliminate many calls to customer service.
