I tried to record video on them on two different recorders and several programs and they didn't work. These discs were a total wast of money. I,m going back to using verbatim. They work just like they're suposed to. I'll never buy HP dvd discs again.

Burned 4 so far, at 16x, on a Lite-On Ihap 422 burner (4.5 min to burn data, 16 min to burn lightscribe image). All play flawlessly on a 10 yr old Toshiba 5 disc DVD changer and PS3. Great detail/contrast on the lightscribe image. Will be using these from now on. Wish they made dual layer lightscribe media.

The coaster could have been mine, or the kids fault. Not 100% sure. At times, the burner will have issues reading that it is a blank disk. Removal and reinserting the disk usually fixes this issue. I am using an older LG burner, so...

I've used the HP brand discs for about eight years now. I've never burned a coaster with these discs (knock on wood). I can't say that about any of the the multitude of other discs used previously. A high quality product or just dumb luck? Whichever it happens to be , I'll take it.

Of course, this is Lacie's problem since they aren't updating their lightscribe software for snow leopard. These gold discs only worked with Tiger and then there's no Lacie template software. All you can do is print a name and date. That's it. Two lines.

That title pretty much tells the story. This is a pretty good value (hard to find this or similar with free shipping). No problems with the lightscribe and I consider these true workhorse DVD-R media, never got a clunker yet.

I am satisfied with the disc quality. About half way through the 50 pack. All good so far. Though am not as keen on the whole lightscribe concept as I originally was. It takes about a half hour to burn a label at the "best" quality setting, however it does have that distinctive lightscribe look. I recently discovered that you can also run them through again (it will re-synchonize) making a quite dark contrast if desired.

I have burned and lightscribed 100's of DVD's. These hp disks are great - I get zero recorded data defects (as checked with ImageBurn software) and the LightScribe contrast is excellent for a DVD. (DVD Lightscribe disks are never as sharp as CD LightScribes, but these hp disks have very good results when LightScribed with max contrast setting.) I have purchased "hp" disks at a much lower price from other sources with horrible results - I think there might be counterfeits around. But these are the real deal, genuine hp.

I edit weddings and use lightscribe DVD's. They look great. Lightscribe is owned by HP. Last time I ordered 200 discs I tried to save money and used another brand. I had nothing but problems. I lost about 50 discs from that batch due to writing or printing errors. Over the past 3 years I've purchased about 1200 lightsribe DVD's and the HP ones just work without a problem. I've been told by HP that all discs brands are of the same quality but from experience that's not true. I will only use the HP brand discs.

So far,I like the product pretty much. Wish it would print darker. Found some tricks to making it a little darker.Reprint a few more times and then there is a setting you can can use.Go to Lightscribe control panel & check the Modify contrast settings to print darker labels. I suppose we all know that you most often "get what you pay for" in life. Well, that is what I found with these HP disks. In the first batch of 50 disks I had about 8 to 10 that were duds. They either would not allow me to print on the lightscribe back of the disk, or the disk itself would write with errors and I had to discard.

The price is great for the disks, but it seems to me the quality control for who ever makes these for HP is not very high, BUT throwing out the bad ones the price was still quite a bit better than many other brands. I think I will try a different brand, however.

HP writes OK, but lightscribe is not so reliable.
Out of 50, 15 didn't write. HP gave the excuse it
was the writer. Verbatim on the other-hand wrote
50 out of 50 with no duds. Verbatim is going to be

I've ordered this product from SuperMediaStore.com in the past (I'm actually about to again) and the one thing I'll say is they've always been good for me. I'm a videographer so I constantly run through DVD's. Like any box you may have an occasional bad disc, that won't copy or the light-scribe won't recognize the disc, but all in all...they're great!

I would recommend these to anyone.. I just bought my 3rd 100 pack. the last 100 pack every disc burned perfect. the batch before I had only one disc that did not want to burn the lable side, but it did burn the movie on the movie side. Not a bad ratio (1 disc 1/2 bad out of 300). And delivery was fast.
