Solid State Drives

A SSD, or Solid State Drive, has many advantages over a traditional computer hard drive. SSDs make use of flash memory technology so data can be accessed much more quickly. Thus, a SSD operates faster. Because solid state drives have no moving parts, they are generally less likely to malfunction or overheat. They are also much more power efficient and completely silent, much like SD cards. Another huge advantage of solid state hard drives is they are less likely to suffer damage if dropped. That is a main reason why SD Drives are currently gaining a lot of popularity in the notebook/laptop and netbook market.
