About AIT Tapes

AIT Data TapesAIT Tape (Advance Intelligent Tape), originally developed by Sony, is a type of magnetic tape data storage format. This high-speed, high-capacity tape is similar to DLT, LTO, DAT/DDS and VXA formats. AIT comes in a cassette format with a dual reel cartridge that holds the 8mm tape and uses a helical scan mechanism for reading and writing.
